I have depicted plain yellow damask standards of the type carried by the other squadrons in the regiment here: https://nba-sywtemplates.blogspot.com/2025/02/three-generic-plain-damask-english.html
During the War of the Spanish Succession it is likely the regiment carried yellow or buff standards with the cipher of Queen Anne; I have depicted such a standard here: https://nba-sywtemplates.blogspot.com/2025/02/three-generic-damask-cavalry-standards.html
But it is perfectly possible these standards were carried later than the reign of James II.
Detailed account of the regiment here on Kronoskaf:

Nice flag, the shade of yellow is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donnie. Makes a change from blue and red too! :-)
DeleteLovely work as always and the yellow really pops out at you as it is not too warm a tone, with the silver a perfect match for the detail:).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. :-) It is relatively simple standard but perhaps all the more attractive for that!
DeleteAll the best,
David.
Excellent!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ray. :-) I am gradually working my way through the known 1680s English standards - a few more to come yet...
DeleteAll the best,
David.
