This was ultimately a famous British regiment but had a rather drab SYW (from a wargamer's perspective!) as it spent much of the war in garrison in Gibraltar. No doubt this was essential duty and the fame of the regiment seems more to have stemmed from its later history.

Lovely flags David and such a famous regiment too but as you point out not an exciting one for the SYW although when has that ever stopped a wargamer!!
