Swedish Dragoon SYW

The new hussar is taking a long time to finish, not least because for some days I've been rebuilding XP and reinstalling programs, a tedious and lengthy process. So, as an interim offering which took only a relatively short time to do, here is a Swedish dragoon of regiments 1, 2 or 3, with the distinguishing motif of the three crowns on the shabraque.

  1. Ah, I can just see them trotting from the gates of Old Stockholm now. . .

    Best Regards,

  2. Hi Stokes,

A nice image! :-) Do you know Stockholm? I've not been there myself; pictures I found on the 'Net make it look quite interesting, though.

    All the best,

    David.

  3. Happy Weekend David,

Yes. Many years ago (when the US Dollar went a lot further), I spent a couple of weeks just tooling around Stockholm, particularly the old part -- Gamla Stan. Very beautiful and full of character. Not terribly unlike other old Northern German or Baltic towns, like Luebeck or Riga for instance. Have been to the former a couple of times and desperately want to visit the old town of the latter. Maybe one day soon.

By the way, your Russian cavalry look marvelous. I'm thinking about basing some of my future imaginary units (from the supporting cast of players) on Russian troops of the period, so these will come in handy at some point. Thanks for the continuing inspiration!

    Best Regards,

    Stokes

  4. Ptah! We spit on your non-Stagonian uniform designs!

Enough is enough! No. It is too much.

We gave you time to design our uniforms . . . but have you? No. Instead you play around with minor non-entities.

Very well, you had your chance. Soon you will see your shop burned to the ground.

We are coming to punish you. Quake in your silly slippers. There is no time to call for more help than you already have . . . the die will be cast . . . so cringe in terror.

    Stagonia is nigh.

(note -- Proxy battle coming up soon)

  5. Hi Stokes,

I envy you your ramblings round Stockholm and Luebeck! I've always wanted to do a cruise round the Baltic, stopping off just about everywhere (and of course visiting St Petersburg). Do you have a good collection of photographs of your visits? They wouldn't be handily digital, would they? ;-)

I'm glad you like the new Russians - thanks for the encouragement. We shall have to see if Tippelbruder survives the Stagonian attack - perhaps there will be no more templates from that hitherto peaceful little town.

    All the best,

    David.

    Yah boo... ;-)

(Or should that be "Nuts!"? ;-))

    David.
