Prussian Dragoon Style Standard 1

There were at least 5 variants of the standards carried by Prussian dragoons; this is the simplest version of the oldest type, which dated from the reign of Frederick II's father.

  1. David,

Yes, thank you. This is the sort of thing that is difficult to find.

I could easily see this with the National Symbol in the center. Leaves and fringe in the button color and the outer field in the unit's facing color.

  2. Hi Jeff,

Thanks; I'm glad it will perhaps be useful to you.

As I mentioned in a previous comment, it's a bit problematic finding flags that are suitable for the "fictionalising" treatment. Some are too specific, like British flags, and others, like many of the French, are too plain and simple to be worth making special templates of. Cavalry colours are a mixed bag; many are very complex indeed (French cavalry standards, for example) so will take a lot of work. I'll have a good look at what there is and see how the inspiration strikes!

    All the best,

    David.

  3. David,

I'm also very curious about the Hussar flags you mentioned on a previous post. I'm very much interested in seeing those.

  4. Ah - well, ask and ye shall be given (sometimes). I've just posted the hussar standard while you were posting your message! :-)

    David.
