Being a uniform and flag design service to wargamers and to the imaginary crowned heads of 17th and 18th Century Europe, especially of the Seven Years War period - now By Appointment to the Court of Saxe-Bearstein! (But please note that the uniforms and flags presented here are not fictional - they are genuine 17th and 18th Century uniforms and flags that are as authentic as I can make them from my sources.)

Jäger of the Württemberg Feldjäger zu Fuss
First raised 1759 as 1 company, part of the Feldjägerkorps (which included the Feldjäger zu Pferde, previously posted on this blog). Commanders during the SYW were: 1759: Major von Weitershausen, 1760: Major Georg Friedrich Böcklin von Böcklinsau. Disbanded 1765.
Served in Hessen and Saxony 1759 and 1760 (above from Kronoskaf).
Equipment: Brown leather waistbelt with sword in brown leather scabbard. Brown leather crossbelt and cartridge pouch. Firearm with brown leather shoulder strap. Black leather shoes.
Nice work as always!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that the trousers are white.
Thanks, FB. Yes, it must have made them easier targets!
ReplyDeleteThis is a relatively simple template to keep things ticking over; I'm working on a few others at the moment but they all require much more work or I'm waiting for more information before I can complete them. Anwyay, like hussars, one can never have too many jägers. ;-)
David.
Well done, sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill. :-)
ReplyDeleteI keep soldiering on with them...
Hope all's well with you.
All the best,
David.
Sir David, Haven't had much time or interest for gaming lately. Lynda has been fighting breast cancer, so we have been seeing doctors, undergoing surgery, and starting radiation. Fortunately, things look excellent for a full recovery, but it certainly has not be fun. Hope all is well with you. Best regards, Bill
ReplyDeleteWould you believe it, I'm just about to build a Feldjagerkorps. Your template came just at the right moment.
ReplyDeleteCheers David.
Steve.
Hi Bill,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that but very glad that the prognosis is good. Modern medical treatment makes one very thankful *not* to be living in the 18th century, however fascinating it is in so many ways. My thoughts and best wishes are with you both. I hope it won't be too long before you can relax and enjoy the wargaming again.
All the best,
David.
Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteNothing like a bit of serendipity! I'm pleased the template is what you needed when you needed it... :-)
I look forward to seeing pictures of your new troops...
Cheers,
David.
