Recently finished design for Golconda

Here's a snapshot of a commission I've recently finished for Golconda; see: http://golcondarising.blogspot.com/ It's an excellent and fascinating blog on wargaming all things Indian in the 18th century.

I think the exotic talwar came out pretty well... :-)

  3. Thanks, Jim. That's very kind of you to say so. I know I still have a huge amount to learn but I confess I am quite pleased with this illustration. :-) (The program I use is the vector drawing program Xara Designer Pro 6: http://www.xara.com/uk/products/designer/ )

    Cheers,

    David.

  4. and you should be proud of it, David. The shading and reflection on the metal bits (especially the blade), and the oblique perspective on the hilts are really well done, convincingly rendered. I think you are snowing us - you're a pro! And if you are not you should be getting some $ from Xara Designer for selling their program for them...

  5. Thanks, Jim. I do appreciate your comments. OK - I'll cast aside that English reserve and self-deprecation for once and say, yes, I am indeed proud of that illustration! :-)

(Actually if anyone were to buy the Xara drawing software after clicking on the link on my blog partly down the front page on the left ( http://stats.xaraonline.com/ID.874855/product.XaraXtremeCD/redirectid.DesignerHome/affiliate.html ) then I would get some commission...)

    Cheers,

    David.

  7. Thank you for the Harald Howe details; that's the email address I have already, unfortunately, so I'll probably have to try old-fashioned letter writing!

    Cheers,

    David.
