WSS Grenadiers' Preview

Just a quick preview shot of the next 6 variants of WSS infantry with 3 different versions of the early grenadier cap.  I'll post them on the blog in the next few days.

I thought it best to keep the caps simple so they're more adaptable - if I used specific designs, especially of the detail of the frontplates, they'd be far less widely useful without further editing.

  1. David,

These all look great! I wish I had talent in the artistic realm.

Do you have a suggestion for placing 24 of the templates in a single image?

I am using GIMP2.0 and when I reduce the size of the template, the detail fades out quite a bit.

  2. Hi Justin,

Thanks; glad you like them. :-)

Unfortunately, with bitmap images like .png reducing the size reduces the number of pixels in the image and inevitably destroys detail. On the other hand, vector images are scaleable to almost any size, up or down, without losing any detail. I could let you have .svg versions of the images that you could edit (colour, etc.) in the free program Inkscape: www.inkscape.org so that you could put 24 figures in one larger image and not lose any detail. Otherwise the only way to keep the detail is to make a huge .png image with 24 figures all at their original size, I'm afraid!

Let me know if you'd like to try the svg option.

    Cheers,

    David.
