The flags as depicted were carried by this regiment from 1685 to 1791.
And this plate shows the uniform and flags in 1757:
Being a uniform and flag design service to wargamers and to the imaginary crowned heads of 17th and 18th Century Europe, especially of the Seven Years War period - now By Appointment to the Court of Saxe-Bearstein! (But please note that the uniforms and flags presented here are not fictional - they are genuine 17th and 18th Century uniforms and flags that are as authentic as I can make them from my sources.)

Sir David, Glad to see all your new flags! Keep up the great work...
ReplyDeleteThis one is even prettier! I think I will have to paint up the Régiment Beauvoisis... What is the source of the uniform plate?
ReplyDeleteI sent you an email (having dug up an address from a few years ago...).
Hoping you will keep it up
Jim
Another great looking flag!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill. Hope all's well with you; haven't heard from you for a while.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
David.
Hi Jim,
ReplyDeleteYes, aurore and dark red is rather appealing, isn't it? :-)
The plates come from the Manuscript "Troupes du Roi, Infanterie française et étrangère, année 1757, tome I", Musée de l'Armée, Paris; I found the images I use on a website now defunct, it seems, but they apparently can be tracked down via this link now: http://www.photo.rmn.fr/cf/htm/CSearchT.aspx?V=CSearchT&SID=2K1KTSJNEEXXG&E=S_2K1KTSJNEEXXG&NoR=500&New=T
Thanks for the email which I received today; will reply ASAP.
Cheers,
David.
Thanks, Ray. Glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
David.
