I've been sitting on a few variants of these unfinished flags for some years now:
I'm sure many of you will recognise them. So I thought I'd better finally get round to finishing and posting them! I hope to do various of the different regimental colour combinations of these flags, which will be fairly easy to do.
Will post them soon, hopefully...
Sir David, You can never have too many Irish Flags!!!On a personal matter, I would love to see an Irish Flag with red and green corners and black cross with a white border for my imaginary army. Oh well, a gamer can always dream...Best regards, Bill
ReplyDeleteHi Bill,
ReplyDeleteQuite agree! Especially when they're as attractive as these... ;-)
So, for your Irish flag, do you mean like this one with the crowns and harp but with a black cross and white border as well?
All the best,
David.
Sir David, yes, yes, yes, please, but no words in the cross...Best regards Bill
ReplyDeleteHi David,
ReplyDeleteI'm painting now Regiment Clare. So you new project sounds really great. Would you be so kind to mention always exectely the date of the flag? It seams to me that there are different interpretations of the irish flags - for example for Roothe and Berwick.
Thanks and all the best,
André
OK, Bill, I'm working on it. Sorry for the delay.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
David.
Hi André,
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed, I'll make the dates of the flags I post very clear.
I've been delayed working on these for a number of reasons lately - "real life" (as so often) and my discovery of good quality images of a surviving flag of Dillon in Ireland which shows a rather different crown from the one I have already depicted. So I have to find time to rework that before I can publish any of the Irish flags!
Cheers,
David.
