I couldn't resist doing the full set of Irish regimental flags for the Seven Years War before returning to the Prussians so here is the last set, for Regiment Lally.
The green is fairly tricky - this looks rather light but when printed should be just about the right shade of light dirty green.
The tale of Regiment Lally and French adventures in India is best read here on Kronoskaf: http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Lally_Infanterie
And the lurid tale and grim end of its commander can be read here: http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Lally-Tollendal,_Thomas_Arthur_Comte_de
And this is the uniform as it was at the beginning of the Seven Years War:
Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jonathan! Positive comments keep me going with all this. :-)
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
David.
Your work is brilliant and I really ought to thank you more often for your generous contributions.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jonathan. I very much appreciate the praise and thanks but I do understand that people often have busy lives and don't always have time to comment. Still, I do find it a great help when they do, to encourage me to keep creating flags and posting!
ReplyDeleteI did try posting on your blog to say how splendid your Hittites are but I'm not sure the posting went through - I do find this a problem with some blogs, not sure why.
Thanks again.
All the best,
David.
No comment from you on my blog. No comment in SPAM folder either. I don't think it made it through.
ReplyDeleteThat is annoying - although I have found this happen quite often, and I'm never sure why. I'll try again to see if I have any better luck!
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
David.
The flag of Lally is very much looking like Bulkeley. On the other hand I have the same "problem" with other French flags too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very Long process to Chose the right Units for a French army, as I wanted interesting uniforms and Units, which fought in the most important battles (Fontenoy, Dettingen ...).
Great work as always.
Thanks, André. Lally's flags are different from Bulkeley only in the shade of the green so I agree there's not much in it! When I finally get round to my French army I shall also find it difficult to choose which regiments to represent.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
David.
