Flag of yet another unknown Austrian regiment of Charles VI, as probably carried in the 1740s by the army of Maria Theresa

Here we have yet another flag of an unknown Austrian regiment from the reign of Charles VI, which may well have been carried in the early 1740s. Once again, that's about all I can say about it! It feels rather like a holiday,  posting flags without much text... ;-) But I'll be back to the usual text-heavy postings next, with Baden-Baden, Volontaires de Hainaut, more Prussian flags to keep the Prussophiles happy etc. etc..

  2. Thanks very much, Jon. :-) I confess I rather like them myself! ;-) Sadly there are not very many images of the later Charles VI flags; but there are a few more of the earlier square WSS-style. I may do some of them too...

    All the best,

    David.

  3. Check out Summerfield’s book on the Austrian infantry. He has lots of pictures of both Leopold and Charles flags. I can send you some images too. I’d love to see you do more of these flags.

  4. Hi Jim, Thanks for commenting. Yes, I have that book (2nd Edition) but most of the pre-MT flags are unfortunately Leopold's rather than those of Charles VI. But please do send me images of Charles VI flags if you have them. I have recently found an excellent contemporary source of images of later Charles VI flags and will be using that to produce more flags for the Austrians in the early 1740s.

    All the best,

    David.
