This is a tentative post to gauge interest - I know there are already a few people out there who will be interested.
If enough people respond I'll make sure I export these at a higher resolution and will try to work on some more, including possibly some of those Leibfahnen with their fiddly and complicated Madonnas!
They look great
ReplyDeleteThanks, Neil. :-)
DeleteTHey are very nice David, you do realise I now have to paint some bavarians.
ReplyDeleteWillz.
Thank you, Willz. :-) But of course! ;-)
DeleteAll the best,
David.
These really look very good indeed - very pleasing. From left to right, top to bottom.these look (to me!) like the colours for the Kurprinz, Bettendorf, Leibregiment and the 4th one is suitable for a number of units - Octfort, Spielberg usw.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-) I shall put labels on the final sheet but I think you are right...
DeleteAll the best,
David.
Crackin flags David! I'm interested for sure!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ray. :-) I'll probably make these four flags one sheet and work on others for another sheet.
DeleteAll the best,
David.
Interest piqued here for sure David, but personally I would use them for my ImagiNations armies, mainly because I've always liked the designs:).
ReplyDeleteThanks, Steve. :-) That seems perfectly reasonable!
DeleteAll the best,
David.
You are a tempter, David!
ReplyDelete:-) We do our best to lure people into the labyrinth of 18th century flags - from which there is no escape. Hahahahahha... ;-)
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
David.
Very interested in anything to do with the WSS, nice flags and the Bavarians are a nice army to do, so it's all good for me!!
ReplyDeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteI love those flags, although it is a bit complicated to judge which regiment carried it (I am a Bavarian and researching for nearly 5 years on this subject), but, please, go on with the Leibfahnen.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-) The Leibfahnen are on my To Do list, although I do not have very good or clear graphic details of the flags. If you can point me to some good images of WSS Bavarian Leibfahen, I would be grateful; thanks!
DeleteCheers,
David,
I'm also very interested, it's a project that's been in my cartons for years. I own the stephen manley and hoffman sheets (spanish suc war)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ronald. :-) How much detail do the Manley and Hoffman sheets show (I have kindly been sent an image of one Hoffman sheet; is that all he did?)?
DeleteAll the best,
David.
the hoffman, i found it at Partizan press, the pages are in colour format A5, there is unfortunately no text but it gives a general idea of the army of the blue king, it is composed of 44 plates. one can also find them in A4 on the net. the Manley (published by on military matters) is almost exclusively text with some diagrams in black and white, it covers the period of the war of the Austrian succession. it presents tables with the distinctive colours, ...

Thank you, Ronald. Very helpful. :-)
DeleteAll the best,
David.
I'm late, as always, but yes please!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Steve. :-) I shall post the final high resolution sheet of those four flags soon and work on some others.

David.
