The Triomphes Louis XIV depicts this flag of an unknown Savoyard regiment, which Boeri's book on the Savoyard army says was captured in 1704. Boeri also depicts the flag with twiddly decoration at the ends of the arms of the cross but they do not appear on the flag on the Triomphes, so I have stuck to the source material and omitted them.
I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jon. :-) There are a few more Savoy flags left to do yet...

Very cool and rather different to the norm:). The wavy lines to make my eyes ache though! Seeing how many flags you've done over the years, I do pity the original 'designers' having to come up with variations on a theme all the time;).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. :-) I agree that some of these rather Swiss-like flags can be a bit headache inducing! And yes, it must have been a problem at times to come up with yet more variations on the same theme - and probably to very short deadlines too!

Fantastic.

Thank you, Willz. :-) I think I may do one more Savoy flag then get back to my neglected WAS/SYW flags for a while!
