I have absolutely no information on the operational use of these troops in the War of the Spanish Succession and the uniform information seems fairly confusing, so all I can offer here is this sheet of flags; they are attractive flags, anyway!

Very distinctive.
ReplyDeleteThank you, David. Yes, they are indeed, with those horizontal stripes of various colours. Much the same , with some variation, in the SYW too. :-)

Brilliant flags.
ReplyDeleteWillz.
Thank you, Willz. :-) Hope you are able to use them...

They are lovely flags, I will have to do a bit of digging about uniforms for them, They are too nice not to use!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donnie. :-) Glad to hear you'll use them. If you'd like to send me a message via my Contact For (side panel left) I can send you snapshots of the information on uniforms I have from the August Kühn WSS volume.

Baden Durlach at least served in the Italian theatre... https://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Baden-Durlach_Infantry
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Steve. Unfortunately there were two Baden-Durlach regiments, one the Kreis unit (as in my flags) and one a regular Austrian army unit, which is the one in your link. Very confusing!

Aaah... interesting!
DeleteThank you! I think so too! ;-)

Those are lovely and Baden-Baden, so good they named it twice 😉!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve! Indeed! :-)

David, you are a cruel, cruel man! These are wonderful and make me wish for eight arms and 48-hour days to get more troops painted and flagged. "Brilliant" is an apt description.
ReplyDeleteKind Regards,
Stokes
Thank you, Stokes. :-) Yes, an essential element in good flag production is a strong streak of sadism... ;-) Hope you are able to use these flags sometime! (And yes, I do agree; from my perspective 48 hour days would also be very useful...)

These will look terrific on the battlefield.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jon! I think they will. :-)
