Well, it's been quite a slog but it's nearly finished - here is the final preview of the new hussar template, shown here as Prussian Regiment No.2 Von Zieten. As you can see, all that need to be done now are the sabretache straps and the fiddly hanging braid on the fur cap. This template will form the basis of a number of hussar variants but the devil is in the detail with hussar uniforms so it will not be as easy creating each variant as it is for most infantry uniforms.

David,
ReplyDeleteWe're coming to take you away, ha ha!
We're coming to take you away.
Verily, you'll pay.
I know that you will.
Lo, it will so come to pass
Evil deeds will . . .
Strike your Town of
Tippelbruder.
And it is your fault
Go weep in fear
Only yourself to blame
No one else cares
I guarantee the end of
All your tailor dreams.
-- Koenig Maurice
(note the clever first letters)
MAGNIFICENT!
ReplyDeleteLooking wonderful David!
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
Thanks, Murdock and Stokes. :-)
ReplyDeleteDavid.
Do you really think
ReplyDeleteEvil Stagonia
And her even more evil king
Tittering and scheming and threatening
Has any chance of doing a thing?
Tyrants never prosper long
Others gather to right the wrong
So carry on making your bluster
Tattle-head empty-brained thing
After you've run away screaming
Gone into exile and dreaming
Of days when your reign meant something
Now you'll repent your false lustre
In grief and misery, King
And never forget Tippelbruder - the small town with a large sting.
Seen scrawled on a wall in Tippelbruder, November 1757.
Nice work as usual.
ReplyDeleteBut why does he wear his underwear outside his trousers?
Thanks, FB.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that's something you'd want to say to his face! ;-)
Brilliant with colors!
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
Thanks, Stokes - it does improve them rather, doesn't it? :-) (But I think the blue may be a little too bright for Reg. No.2...)
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
David.
Will we soon see the colored versions of the uniforms for the Count's Freikorps?
ReplyDelete-- Jeff
Hi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteI posted them a while ago on Freistadt Tippelbruder - they're here (it's a bit of a rough image but it will do for the moment!):
