This is the last of the SYW British infantry colours I did a couple of years ago, although I plan to do more sometime soon. There is some doubt about the details on these colours; I have omitted the royal ciphers in the three corners from the regimental colour as they were probably not there until around 1768. This is a larger file than the previous ones as to show the details of the St Andrew beneath the central device required more pixels!
The Kronoskaf page has details of the regimental history and uniform here: https://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=42nd_Foot

Lovely set of flags David, I like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donnie. :-) Like the Prussian flags, once the basic pattern is done it's a matter of working on the individual details with these British flags - that can be tricky enough, to be honest, but it's a lot less work than, say, the very individualistic Hanoverian flags which are frankly rather horrifying to do!

Beautifully done there David and really needs to be seen on 28mm and above figures on oversized flags, to be able to appreciate the detail:).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. :-) I do agree - but short of having a wargames table the size of a playing field it seems that 28s are rather out of reach except for small scale games! Your 10mm games are very pleasing as they do allow decent sized games on a relatively tiny space - but yes, perhaps the flags are not quite as impressive as one might wish at that scale!

Lovely flags David.
ReplyDeleteWillz.
Thank you, Willz! Now to juggle more SYW British flags and all those WSS etc. flags (not to mention other SYW flags) - it puts my head in a spin thinking about it... ;-)
