These two flags of an unknown unit are clearly related but which is a company flag and which a Colonel's flag (if that is indeed what they are) is debatable. I therefore leave it to the wargamer who uses them to decide! The Triomphes Louis XIV says they were captured at the battle of Neerwinden in 1693.

Interesting flags!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jon. :-) Yes, they are unique in their designs; quite unmistakeable, in fact!
DeleteAll the best,
David.
Loving these Spanish flags David, they are really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donnie. :-) It is a pity they tend to be of unidentified units, though...

Beautiful work, David. Lovin all the Spanish flags, keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteMore from the Triomphes Louis collection please!
Thank you, Ray. :-) Plenty more to come...
DeleteAll the best,
David.
Another lovely flag with the unifying use of fleches (?) in all the designs.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. :-) Certainly they are quite distinctive with the overall use of the Burgundian ragged cross to unify the designs. Impossible to mistake them for anything other than Spanish, really!
