Standard of the Bavarian Horse Grenadiers 1696

This is one I did many years ago. I have very little information on the history of the unit. I took most of the detail from a photograph of the original standard which survives in the Bavarian Army Museum.

And this was probably the uniform in 1702:

  2. This is a great piece of work. I shall be delighted to retire my own home-botched version and replace it with yours. Thanks ever so much. The downside is I may feel obliged to smarten up the unit's uniforms to match...

    1. Thank you! Glad you like it! But please note the newer version which is a big improvement... :-) Look forward to seeing it with your troops - smartened up or not...

      All the best,

      David.

    1. Thank you, Donnie. :-) Yes, they are really smart units, aren't they? Of course, sadly, many of those units had no standards to carry! Luckily this one did... I feel a bit guilty neglecting the SYW and WAS but I can't be everywhere at once!

      All the best,

      David.

    1. Thank you! The version posted on Friday 16th February is the latest and improved version, so basically it's the other one! Hope that's not confusing... Cheers, David.
